Crescent Cleaning Services' Story

 Crescent Cleaning Services was founded by Arc, a charitable organisation who house and support homeless people in Taunton and Sedgemoor. 

Arc are dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness with every step of their journey and had witnessed many of their clients struggle when ready to access employment. This is down to a number of difficulties such as lacking recent work experience or feeling anxious about returning to work with no support mechanisms. 

Arc decided it was time for change and that those recovering from homelessness needed and deserved a positive pathway into employment, so Crescent Cleaning Services was born.

Crescent Cleaning Services recruits those who have experienced homelessness and are ready to get back into work. With a stage employment approach, thorough training and sufficient support, our employees will not only be well equipped for their role but will have gained the skills and confidence to sustain long term employment. 

As Arc's core service is housing, Crescent Cleaning Services have access to 16 residential properties that all require cleaning and so we have plenty of scope to gain experience and get our social enterprise started. Crescent Cleaning Services have received support from numerous parties to ensure the success of our enterprise. 

We received funding from the Enterprise Development Fund in partnership with Homeless Link to undertake thorough research, planning training and to employ our Social Enterprise Manager, Jordan. 

We also had the pleasure of working alongside Richard Huish College, as their Graphic Design students took on the project of creating our brand identity. We were delighted to incorporate the work of five talented students who designed our logo mark, slogan, values, mission statement and placement of brand.    

We have since received funding from the Community Renewal Fund who are helping us to grow and expand our services further. Read our Blog to find our more!

Having officially launched in October 2021, we've got an exciting future ahead and can't wait to continue growing. We've now got a fantastic small team of 8 and are cleaning Arc's 16 properties. We also have 4 external contracts and always looking to speak with local businesses who require cleaning services, to see if we can offer them what they require.
